The circumstances of the incident
The incident occurred on the evening of June 17 at the Vikhrevo airfield near Sergiev Posad. This is a playground for small aircraft classes, and the aero club is based there. According to the Izvestia source, the ZLIN 142 aircraft was landing, but crashed 50 m from the runway.
TASS, citing operational services, reported that the preliminary cause of the crash was a pilot error. After the crash, the aircraft caught fire. The fire has already been extinguished, there is no damage on the ground. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has attracted 20 rescuers and seven pieces of equipment.
The dead
There were two people on board the crashed plane. The source of Izvestia reported that the dead were Honored Test pilot of the Russian Federation Peter Tutakin and aircraft owner Alexei Nefedov.
