A section of the federal highway in Kamchatka will be repaired a year ahead of schedule

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky plans to commission a section of the A-401 federal highway a year earlier than planned. This is reported by the Far East FCU DSD subordinate to Rosavtodor, which is carrying out the work.

We are talking about the segment from the 8th to the 13th km of the A-401 highway, which leads to the airport. As of June 17, new asphalt has already been laid on the section from Tundrova Street to the Lukashevsky Ring with a length of 3 km and marking will begin next week.

On the remaining 2.5 km-long segment from the Lukashevsky Ring to the intersection of the Northeastern Highway with Vulkannaya Street, the old pavement began to be removed last weekend, the KamchatkaMedia news agency clarifies.

According to the director of the institution, Sergey Petraev, work began immediately after the conclusion of the contract. They are conducted in two shifts, but mainly at night, in order to interfere with daytime traffic as little as possible. It is planned to fully complete the repair of the segment by the end of June, one year earlier than the deadline stipulated in the contract.

It is noted that, in general, the contract provides for the repair of two sections. On the second, from the 13th to the 24th km, work starts immediately after the completion of the installation of wear layers on the first. In case of favorable weather conditions, repairs can be completed during the current road season.
