Zelensky tried to kiss Meloni on the lips at a meeting at the G7 summit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky tried to kiss Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni on the lips during a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit on June 17.

The footage from social networks shows that Zelensky drew attention to Meloni approaching him while he was holding hands with the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von Der Leyen.

When the Italian prime Minister stopped next to the Ukrainian leader, he abruptly turned his whole body towards her. She hugged Zelensky and wanted to greet him with a kiss on the cheek, but he twice tried to bend over her lips.

Meloni probably felt awkward, as she began to avoid eye contact with her interlocutor. Later, she hurriedly left the place where she met Zelensky.

Earlier in the day, French journalist Vincent Hervue said that the leaders of the G7 countries gathered at the summit, which is taking place in Evian, are "losers" who have lost their rating in their countries. According to him, Meloni has also "lost her former strength."
