The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has taken over the investigation of a criminal case into an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a bus carrying a children's football team from Belarus in the Bryansk region. This was announced on June 17 by the press service of the ministry on its website.
"On behalf of Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan, the Prosecutor's office of the Bryansk region monitors the observance of the rights of victims of the UAV attack on a bus with a children's football team. <...> In addition, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has put under control the investigation of the criminal case initiated on this fact," the publication says.
The situation at the scene is coordinated by the prosecutor of the Bryansk region. The Prosecutor's office has a hotline for prompt reception of appeals.
Earlier in the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a bus carrying a children's football team from Gomel to Gelendzhik. The victim of the tragedy was one person, a woman who turned out to be the wife of one of the coaches. According to the latest data, the number of victims has increased to eight people.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case on the terrorist act. Information about the incident was brought to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, which demanded an explanation from Kiev. Minsk promised to identify all those involved in this strike and bring them to justice.
