- The Spaso-Andronikov Monastery in the center of Moscow was equipped with lighting
Specialists of the municipal economy complex equipped the building of the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery in the Tagansky district with architectural and artistic illumination. This was announced on Wednesday, June 17, by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.
According to him, the main task of the project was to emphasize the architectural features of one of the oldest monasteries in the capital and harmoniously fit it into the evening appearance of the city.
200 lamps with a total power of 7.3 kW were installed to illuminate the facility. The illumination covered the walls of the monastery, the towers, the Refectory and partly the Church of Archangel Michael. The work used a combination of flood and local lighting based on neutral white LEDs, the Moscow City News agency reports.
Biryukov added that at the second stage it is planned to update the lighting system on the territory of the monastery and equip the entrance area with illumination.
He also recalled that over the past 14 years, the level of illumination in the capital has increased 2.6 times, and the number of buildings with architectural and artistic illumination has increased fourfold, writes Moscow 24.
