There have been 310 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 310 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 25 people were killed and 381 injured. 13 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 17 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 66 accidents involving pedestrians, 12 people were killed, and 59 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 13 child pedestrians, seven of them were injured when crossing the roadway in designated areas, which means that it was the fault of drivers or their own carelessness, the department noted. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 24 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 42 outside their area of operation.

There were 16 bus accidents in which there were no fatalities, but 29 road users, including two children, needed medical attention. 12 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

So, in one of the villages of the Saratov region, in the early morning, a 56-year-old passenger car driver drove into the oncoming lane of the road, where he collided with a minibus carrying 13 passengers. As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the car, as well as six passengers of the bus, were injured and ended up in the hospital.

54 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 60 young road users were injured, including 24 passengers and six motor transport drivers. Three children were killed: a cyclist, a motor vehicle driver and a pedestrian.

The death rate in road accidents is planned to be reduced by one and a half times by 2030.

In one of the rural settlements of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), a 37-year-old truck driver ran over a six-year-old boy cyclist in the daytime, who was riding unaccompanied with his friend and suddenly began to cross the roadway at the intersection of equivalent roads. The driver did not have time to react to his sudden maneuver, as a result, the preschooler died.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 13-year-old sports motorcycle driver did not provide an advantage in traffic when leaving a secondary road onto the main road and collided with a crossover. The young motorcyclist was killed, and he did not use a helmet or protective gear. Previously, the accident occurred due to the deceased teenager's lack of driving skills. He had not previously been issued a driver's license, and he was traveling on a public road on a cross-country motorcycle in violation of traffic rules.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called for strict control and suppression of attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting driving without rights and driving skills. Cross-country motorcycles, sports equipment, pit bikes should be used only on specialized tracks and only for sporting purposes for motorsport, and on ordinary roads and in populated areas, movement with their help is strictly prohibited, the department recalled. Administrative responsibility is provided for providing the opportunity to drive motor vehicles to children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category.

Motorists are advised to be more careful on the roads of towns and cities in the summer, when school-age children spend a lot of time outdoors. Their behavior on the road is often unpredictable, therefore, when approaching intersections and pedestrian crossings, you should reduce your speed as much as possible in advance in order to be able to stop in case of a sudden change in the road situation.

"The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds parents that the lack of control over the behavior and leisure of children during the summer school holidays often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users. According to operational information, in Russia in the first half of the first month of the summer of this year (from June 1 to June 16), 1,183 accidents involving minors occurred, in which 35 children and adolescents were killed and 1,278 injured," said Colonel police officer Sergey Hrantskevich.

On June 16, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Major General of Police Oleg Ponarin, at the Izvestia press center, noted that in the future all vehicles of the highway patrol service will be equipped with photo and video recording devices that recognize license plates.

He noted that the complexes are different — both the so-called "beam" design, built into the special signals on the roof of the traffic police car, and the internal location in the car, which cannot be visually recognized.
