Patrushev noted the effectiveness of measures to control wildfires.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev on June 17 at a meeting at the situation center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry noted the effectiveness of measures to control wildfires. The event was attended by representatives of federal agencies and governors.
As it was noted, the spring stage of the forest fire season has already been completed, but the peak of the fire season has not yet passed. According to forecasts of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service, the greatest fire danger is expected in the Far East, Siberia and the central part of Russia.
"It can be stated that now the area covered by fire is three times less than in [20] in the 25th year. Most importantly, human casualties and damage to infrastructure were avoided. Thus, the measures that you and I have jointly developed within the framework of the headquarters make it possible to effectively control the situation with wildfires. Let me remind you separately that in [20]26th year, the government allocated record funding for the prevention and control of forest fires - almost 27 billion rubles. Funds are provided for the creation and strengthening of aviation departments, strengthening their material and technical base, fire-fighting lanes, as well as for air patrols. In addition, 19 subjects in the [20]26th year receive additional limits on measures related to fire prevention and elimination," Patrushev said.
Patrushev also stressed the need for preventive measures to prevent the spread of fires. He called the rapid detection of foci an important factor: in the spring, 9 out of 10 fires were extinguished on the first day, including with the help of drones.
Patrushev held a meeting on February 9 on the readiness of relevant departments and subjects of the country to ensure the safety of the flood and fire season. The event was held at the site of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and was a continuation of the work outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council on this issue. Then it was noted that, thanks to government support measures to increase the efficiency of detecting wildfires, subjects are updating forest fire equipment and purchasing video cameras for uninterrupted monitoring of the situation.
