Moscow will reconstruct the building for the D.B. Kabalevsky children's music school, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

As the mayor noted in his channel in Maks, a comprehensive examination "revealed numerous defects and damage to the exterior walls — cracks and destruction." The building, which is located on Palikha Street in the Tverskoy district of the capital, was recognized as an emergency, so a "decision was made on its large-scale renovation."

During the work, the foundation will be reinforced using JET piles - this is a jet cementation technology that is effective in conditions of dense construction. "The facade, lined with gray granite and copper—colored aluminum panels, will stand out due to the expressive contrasts," the mayor wrote, noting that large-scale glazing will become an important element of the building. The work is scheduled to be completed in 2027.

As Sobyanin noted, after the completion of the work, the area of the building will increase, its appearance will become more modern and visually attractive, while the building will fit more harmoniously into the surrounding architecture.

347 children will study at the renovated school. Among the available directions are music, choreography and visual arts. The school will have a recording and art studio, an office of decorative arts and a museum named after Dmitry Borisovich Kabalevsky, a Soviet composer, pianist, conductor and teacher.
