The Iranian authorities are preparing to return to nuclear negotiations, but now the country is less afraid of the actions of the United States after "experiencing tests," The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper writes on June 16.

"After more than three months of bombing and blockades, the US and Iran have returned to the starting point, preparing for what are expected to be difficult negotiations on limiting Tehran's nuclear ambitions. This time, the Iranians will sit down at the negotiating table, armed with valuable knowledge: they will be able to survive the worst trials that the Americans can arrange for them," the article says.

The author of the material emphasizes that despite the fact that US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expected serious concessions from Tehran after the bombing, this did not happen. Instead, the Iranian authorities have only strengthened and gained a new instrument of influence through control over the Strait of Hormuz.

"Iran is coming out of this war with a sense of euphoria. They control the Strait of Hormuz, no one has been able to force them to retreat militarily," said Meir Javedanfar, an expert on Iran from Raichman University in Israel.

According to the author of the material, this war "exposed the limits of American military power," which undermined Washington's ability to try to get future nuclear concessions from Tehran.

"As for the nuclear negotiations, we have returned to the pre-war stage, but without the leverage of the United States. Pandora's box has already been opened, everything has been checked, and Iran believes it has nothing more to lose or fear.
