Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's policy of distancing himself from Russia has not produced the expected results and has put him in a political dead end. This was announced on June 16 by the publication Strategic Culture.

"In recent years, Pashinyan has invested significant political capital in strengthening ties with the European Union and other Euro-Atlantic structures. It was assumed that the West would gradually replace Russia as Armenia's main strategic partner. <...> Pashinyan is faced with an unpleasant reality: Armenia's distancing from Moscow has not brought the expected strategic benefits, and closer relations with the West have failed to provide concrete security guarantees," the publication says.
