The Minister of Defense of Ukraine acknowledged the citizens' indignation at the mobilization process

In Ukraine, it is recognized that citizens are dissatisfied with the mobilization process and the work of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs, an analogue of the military enlistment office). This was announced on June 16 by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov.

"We see a lot of different information about how shopping malls work, and how much outrage there is in society. On the one hand, we need to strengthen the battlefield, on the other hand, we see a military mobilization somewhere, and this justifiably outrages the population," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian TV channel TSN.

According to Fedorov, a transformation of this issue is needed, and in this regard, it was decided to motivate service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with salaries and the opportunity to receive a postponement after the end of the service period under the contract. So, at the first stage, the average salary for infantrymen will be 300 thousand hryvnias ($6.68 thousand), as well as up to 460 thousand hryvnias ($10.25 thousand) for stormtroopers.

In addition, contracts will be introduced for new and active military personnel in assault and infantry units, after which it will be possible to receive a deferral from mobilization, the minister stressed.

The publication "Country.ua" reported that in the Desnyansky district of Kiev on June 14, residents came out against military enlistment offices due to forced mobilization. Thus, passers-by stood up for the young man whom representatives of the Shopping center tried to detain. Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, said on June 15 that such cases indicate an increase in public dissatisfaction with forced mobilization measures. She also noted that during the clashes, the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

On June 16, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Reserve Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev, expressed the opinion that clashes between Kiev residents and representatives of the Shopping Center could develop into organized resistance. According to the expert, a kind of institution of resistance to the TCC is gradually being formed and consolidated in Ukrainian society.
