Politico reported on Starmer's delay in making a decision on defense financing

The British Prime Minister was unable to raise additional funds to finance the country's army. This was reported by Politico on June 16.

"Keir Starmer suggested that he had not found additional funds to finance the British armed forces after the resignation of Defense Secretary John Healey due to the agreement he reached, which he called "far from sufficient," the publication says.

According to Starmer at the G7 summit in France, he has already made a number of "tough" decisions to strengthen the armed forces, including cutting foreign aid last year and reducing funding for government departments.

It is noted that Starmer has attended two meetings with American leader Donald Trump since their arrival at the G7 summit, but he was not offered a bilateral meeting. In addition, he was not at the meeting between Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, which took place separately from the working session on Ukraine.

The Prime Minister denied accusations that he had been "ignored" and said that the head of the White House had not expressed to him any concerns about UK defense spending. In addition, he pointed to an "honest, frank and productive conversation" with the President of the United States.

British Defense Minister John Healey announced on June 11 that he was resigning. It was noted that the reason for his resignation was disagreements over defense spending.

The Politico newspaper said on June 15 that the European Union and the United States note the decline in the authority of the British Prime Minister and express concern about the development of relations with London if his successor comes to power.
