American intelligence admits the possibility of the Iranian side blocking the Strait of Hormuz at any time. CNN reported this on June 16, citing sources.

"American intelligence agencies have recently concluded that Iran can now effectively block access to the Strait of Hormuz at its discretion," the publication says.

As one of the channel's sources noted, control of the strait is a more powerful weapon than any nuclear bomb. It is clarified that during the conflict with the United States, Iran realized new possibilities for using such methods in the future.

On the evening of June 15, US President Donald Trump announced the partial unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz. He specified that this territory will become fully accessible by Friday, June 19, the day when the American and Iranian sides will officially sign the memorandum in Switzerland.

US Vice President Jay Dee Vance added at the same time that ships would be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz for free during the 60 days of negotiations between the US and Iran after signing the memorandum, which, in his opinion, is of a general nature.

Later, on June 16, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, said that the United States had begun to lift the naval blockade on Iran. According to him, the relevant process has entered an active phase even before the parties officially signed the memorandum.
