In the published footage, the American president stands between the first lady of France and Macron. It is noted that during the meeting at the summit, Trump quickly shakes Macron's hand and then kisses Brigitte on the cheek. According to the TV channel, the two leaders had a difficult relationship, as they disagreed on many issues, such as Ukraine, the war with Iran, as well as trade tariffs.

On April 2, Trump joked that Macron's wife treats the French leader "extremely badly." He ironically noted that the French president is "still recovering from a blow to the jaw." Macron himself left this statement without comment, calling Trump's words unworthy.
