A man recruited by the Ukrainian special services was detained in Chita.
A resident of Chita, recruited by the special services of Ukraine, was detained on suspicion of treason. This was announced on June 16 by the press service of the Federal Security Service for the Trans-Baikal Territory.
"According to the materials of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Trans-Baikal Territory, a resident of Chita was detained for high treason. It has been established that this person was recruited by the Ukrainian special services to participate in the organization of sabotage and terrorist activities in Russia," the agency told TASS.
The report added that the person involved in the case had received special training, and his main task was to collect and transmit information about important facilities located near his places of residence.
It is noted that a criminal case has been opened on this fact under Articles 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason") and Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Undergoing training in order to carry out terrorist activities"). The suspect has been detained.
On the same day, Russian FSB officers detained a man in the Yaroslavl region who, according to investigators, was preparing a terrorist attack on a railway infrastructure facility on behalf of the Ukrainian special services. It is noted that the suspect was detained red-handed while trying to plant an improvised explosive device.
