The national teams of Iran and New Zealand played a draw in the first round match of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match took place on June 16 and ended with a score of 2:2.

The New Zealand national team took the lead twice thanks to a double by midfielder Elijah Just, who scored in the 7th and 54th minutes. However, Iran compared the score both times: Ramin Rezaian scored in the 32nd minute, and Mohammad Mohebi from Rostov scored in the 64th.

Following the meeting, the New Zealand national team topped the Group G table with one point, while Iran is in second place with the same number of points.

In the second round, New Zealand will play Egypt on June 22, and Iran will face Belgium on June 21.

The Saudi Arabian national team played a draw with the Uruguay national team in the group stage match of the FIFA World Cup. The match, which took place on June 15 in Miami, ended with a score of 1:1. As part of the Saudi team, Abdulela Al-Amri scored in the 41st minute. Maximiliano Araujo scored the return goal in the 80th minute.
