- A prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the encouragement for the capture of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) promised its soldiers a leave of absence when soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were captured. This was announced on Monday, June 16, by Anatoly Mankal, an ordinary soldier of the 120-mm mortar auxiliary fire of the 53rd reconnaissance Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"When they took us [to the unit from training], they warned us: 'If you capture Russian soldiers, you can get 10-15 days off, depending on the number [of prisoners],'" Mankal told TASS.
He also noted that women studied at the training center on an equal basis with men, but many could not withstand the physical and emotional pressure, as "no one gave them any favors." Mankal surrendered to Russian soldiers in the Sumy area, the agency said.
