According to federal statistics, over the past week, the US authorities have released another 8.9 million barrels of oil from the reserve. As a result, reserves decreased to 340.3 million barrels. This figure was lower than the previous low, which was recorded in July 2023.

According to the TV channel, the last time the strategic reserve contained less oil was in July 1983. At that time, the administration of President Ronald Reagan was at the stage of forming these reserves.
