Naryshkin confirmed the continued contacts between the SVR and the CIA in Ukraine

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) continues contacts on Ukraine with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States. This was announced on June 15 by the director of Russian intelligence, Sergei Naryshkin.

"[There are contacts with the CIA], they are not as active as with the previous head, but they are there," he said in an interview with TASS.

Naryshkin noted on May 14 that the Russian side continues to advocate a peaceful settlement of the conflict with Ukraine. According to him, the latest of Moscow's proposals to Kiev concerns the complete liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

During a new telephone conversation, Putin and Trump discussed the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and agreed on the visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in the Izvestia studio at the SPIEF on June 5 that Russia expects that the pause in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict in Ukraine will be interrupted and contacts between the parties will resume. According to Peskov, Moscow understood from the very beginning that finding a solution would be difficult due to the nature of the problem itself. At the same time, the Russian side continues to maintain contact with the United States through existing channels.
