- Ex-stylist Lercek exposed herself as a victim in the case of selling fakes on brands
Ex-stylist of blogger Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek) Elvira Yankovskaya exposed herself as a victim of deception after one of her clients suspected her of selling fakes worth 500 thousand rubles. This was reported on June 15 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Lefortovo Court in Moscow.
The woman explained that she turned to Yankovskaya in the summer of 2021 — she sold her several Gucci bags, Balenciaga and Prada jewelry, a Yves Saint Laurent belt, Dior and Louis Vuitton accessories, as well as Adidas sneakers. She paid 509 thousand rubles for the purchases. After a while, the client discovered that the "branded" bag quickly fell into disrepair, and the items purchased through Yankovskaya were significantly different from the originals presented in the offline store.
In response to the accusations of selling fakes, the stylist stated that she herself had been deceived, and assured the customer that she wanted to explain everything to her. However, the next morning the woman was on the "blacklist", and the correspondence with Yankovskaya disappeared from her phone.
Yankovskaya called herself a professional stylist and offered clients to purchase branded goods at discounted prices. The examinations initiated by the buyers confirmed that the designer items turned out to be counterfeit products of poor quality. The scheme has been in effect for a year and a half. During the investigation, it turned out that Yankovskaya bought goods at the Sadovod market, as well as at the Lyublino and Dubrovka shopping centers.
In May, the victim in the case of the ex-stylist did not request severe punishment against Yankovskaya because she had children. On April 28, the Lefortovo court of the capital extended the measure of restraint for Yankovskaya in the form of detention until August 19. Then the defendant began to cry in the courtroom and asked to change the measure of restraint to house arrest. She stated that she has two children who need her.
In early April, it was reported that the stylist sold Lercek a fake Hermes bag for about 780 thousand rubles. After checking, it turned out that the designer items turned out to be counterfeit products of poor quality. In October last year, Yankovskaya's preventive measure was tightened from a written undertaking not to leave for a six-month detention.
Back in 2023, Chekalina accused Yankovskaya of selling fakes of branded items under the guise of the original. The blogger noted that her friends also bought fakes from the stylist. At the same time, Lercek estimated the damage at a large amount, and a criminal case was opened.
