The train of the Ministry of Defense for the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War left Moscow for Belarus

The train of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Unity in memory. Strength in a feat!" on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, on June 15, he left Moscow for Belarus. The campaign is dedicated to the common history of the countries and the memory of the dead, as well as the fight against the rewriting of history and the preservation of the continuity of the military traditions of the defenders of the Fatherland.

The train brought together seven themed carriages dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War. According to one of the veterans, Andrei Pavlenko, the peoples of all countries always want peace, not war, so it is important to preserve the memory of tragic events in order to prevent their recurrence.

"This is a memory of the great battle that the Soviet Union, the Soviet peoples and its armed forces went through. We have defended the world, which is still holding up. True, some fascists are being reborn, but it won't work, it won't work!" he said.

Commemorative events will be held in Smolensk, Tula, Rzhev, Vyazma, Orsha and Baranovichi along the train route. Their participants will learn, for example, about the partisan movement in Belarus, see military equipment of that period and will be able to find information about their relatives-veterans.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov laid flowers at the Victory Monument in the center of Minsk as part of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War. A monument in honor of the Victory and in memory of the soldiers of the Soviet army, partisans and underground fighters who died during the war was unveiled in Minsk on the 10th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the occupying German troops.
