World taekwondo champion Chetinbaga sentenced to 5.5 years in a penal colony
The Zyuzinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Emin Cetinbaga, the world champion in taekwondo, accused of fraud, to 5.5 years in a penal colony. This was reported on June 15 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The second person involved, Kamal Mamaev, an accomplice of taekwondo, will be sent to a penal colony for 6.5 years.
In September 2025, Cetinbaga and a group of intruders, including former law enforcement officers, were detained in Moscow. The champion was charged with four crimes, two of which were against state power, the interests of the civil service and service in local government.
According to the investigation, the organizer of the group found people who are engaged in cryptocurrency and have large amounts of money. Cetinbagh lured traders he knew to meetings, and his accomplices, ex-operatives, threatened with arrest in uniform for "facilitating terrorism" and demanded the transfer of digital assets. The damage to the victims exceeded 4 million rubles.
