The Foreign Ministry called Europe's calculations about issuing ultimatums to Russia an illusion.

Europe mistakenly believes that it is possible to communicate with Russia in the language of ultimatums, these actions are illusory. This was stated on June 15 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference after a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

"In the current situation, the Europeans are making erroneous conclusions that Russia is losing and Ukraine is winning, so they can issue ultimatums in the hope that Russia will accept these ultimatums. <...> These calculations, of course, are completely useless. And they are illusory," he said.

Lavrov added that during their recent visit to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the ambassadors of Germany, Great Britain and France persistently offered their mediation efforts, but they could not offer anything significantly new. The Foreign Minister recalled that Russia adheres to the understandings reached during the negotiations in Alaska and does not accept such proposals from third countries.

At the final press conference in Astana, Putin declared Russia's readiness to resume negotiations and assessed the prospects for ending the conflict.
