The second stage of the rapeseed plant began to be built in Buryatia

The construction of the second stage of the rapeseed oil production plant began in Buryatia. The construction site has already been inspected by the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Amgalan Darmaev, the press service of the department reported on Monday, June 15.

"It is very beneficial for our agricultural producers that such an enterprise has opened. It becomes possible to sell products locally without transportation costs," the minister said.

The company is fully focused on Buryatia and will be put into operation in 2026, writes IA UlanMedia. It is planned to process up to 300 tons of raw materials per day — now this figure is 130 tons.

The ready demand of the plant for rapeseed is about 100 thousand tons, said the head of Alliance Plus, Bato Sandakov. So far, local farmers are able to supply only a small part.

According to him, in 2025, due to the drought, the share of Buryat producers covered only 2-3% of the needs of the enterprise, so the bulk of rapeseed is purchased in other regions.

In 2026, 8 thousand hectares were planted with industrial crops in the republic. With favorable weather, the harvest can reach 12-13 thousand tons — the entire volume is planned to be delivered to the plant. This will cover about 15% of the demand for rapeseed.
