A citizen of the Russian Federation can optionally put a signature other than that recorded in his passport, there are no legal requirements in this regard. This was recalled on June 15 by a lawyer, lecturer at the Department of Civil Law at the O.E. Kutafin University (MGUA) Vitaly Sbitnev.

"There are no legal requirements for changing signatures. A person can sign with a signature that is not an exact copy of his signature in the passport," he told RIA Novosti.
