On June 14, General Erich Wade, a former military adviser to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, called for urgent peace in Ukraine due to the growing escalation of the conflict.

"I think it is urgently necessary to finally return to the negotiating path in the <conflict> in Ukraine. Because there is no real alternative," the Berliner Zeitung quotes him as saying.

The general also warned that care must be taken so that the conflict does not escalate into a pan-European war. In his opinion, if the current dynamics are maintained, events will develop exactly according to this scenario.

During a meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 11, French, British and German Ambassadors Nicolas de Riviere, Nigel Casey and Alexander Lambsdorff pointed out the destructive approach of their countries to the conflict in Ukraine. During the conversation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin explained Moscow's approaches to finding ways to resolve the crisis.
