The State Duma has listed benefits for blood donors

In Russia, blood donors are entitled to paid days off on the day of delivery, preferential vouchers to a sanatorium out of turn, and — for honorary donors — an annual payment of 19.5 thousand rubles. Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, recalled this on June 14, World Blood Donor Day.

"Firstly, on the day of blood donation and its components, the donor should be given one or two days off while maintaining average earnings. At the same time, the citizen is required to issue a certificate granting the right to time off," she told RIA Novosti.

At the same time, it is better to notify your colleagues and supervisor in advance about your intention to donate blood.

Extraordinary preferential vouchers for sanatorium treatment are provided for donors who have donated blood at least twice a year. You can get them at your place of work or study.

"Such vouchers are received at the place of work or study. You can donate blood for a fee, but, as a rule, rare blood groups are accepted for money. If you donate blood regularly, you have the right to purchase preferential vouchers to sanatoriums as a matter of priority," Stenyakina noted.

Veronika Skvortsova, head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA), said on June 11 that the number of blood donors in Russia had increased by 20% in five years and reached 1,552 million people. At the same time, the multiplicity of donations increased, so that the total number of donations increased by 36% over five years and exceeded 3.7 million. The head of the FMBA also reported that during this period, the volume of whole blood procurement increased by 47%. By the end of 2025, this figure exceeded 2.7 million liters.
