Oppositionist Tsarukyan sued Pashinyan and Armenian public television
Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia opposition party, has sued Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the country's public television. This was confirmed on June 13 by data from the judicial information portal. datalex.am .
According to Sputnik Armenia, Pashinyan called Tsarukyan a "criminal", "spy", "agent", and also stated that he "made a criminal deal", "robbed the people of Armenia".
Tsarukyan demands from television to refute the information that his party was created "at the instigation" of former President Robert Kocharyan. The amount of the claim against the broadcaster is $32.5 thousand. The politician intends to collect $24.5 thousand from the prime minister for slander and insults.
The Civil Contract party of the current Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan won 49.81% of the vote in the parliamentary elections on June 8. More than 727,000 voters voted for her. The second place was taken by "Strong Armenia", more than 340 thousand people voted for it — 23.29%. The final results of the voting in Armenia will be announced on June 14.
On June 10, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed to unprecedented Western interference during the elections in Armenia.
