A man suspected of murdering a 14-year-old teenager over a grocery bag has been detained in Bashkiria. This was reported on June 13 in the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan.

"The Tuymazinsky interdistrict investigative Department of the SU IC of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan has detained a 21-year-old local resident on charges of committing murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the agency's website says.

According to investigators, on the afternoon of June 12, the defendant noticed a 14-year-old teenager leaving the store with a bag of groceries and attacked him in order to seize property. He stabbed the minor several times in the torso and arms, after which he fled with the stolen package.

The teenager died from his injuries near the scene. The accused was detained on the same day. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved. Investigators have seized the weapon of the crime, ordered examinations and are interrogating eyewitnesses.

On the night of June 10-11, in the village of Kanifolny in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a local resident opened fire with a hunting rifle at a company due to loud music, resulting in one death and four more hospitalized. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder"), Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder of four persons").
