To protect personal data on the Internet, Russians should close their social media profiles and not advertise their location. This was announced on June 13 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"To ensure the safety of personal data, it is recommended to close social media profiles from outsiders," RIA Novosti reports.

The Interior Ministry also recommended removing photos of documents from the public space, and refusing to post photos with tags on the Web that allow you to calculate your home address or familiar routes. It is noted that it is necessary to use privacy settings and enable two-factor authentication in all messengers.

Andrey Sharkov, a member of the Russian Bar Association, spoke on June 6 about ways to protect against phone fraud. The expert recalled that real law enforcement officers do not call citizens through messengers. They use the phone exclusively to inform about the need to report to the police department.
