Russia has conducted a series of diplomatic demarches over the non-admission of Russian representatives to the G20 events. This was announced on June 13 by the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-Large for the G20 and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Marat Berdyev.

"We categorically do not accept this approach. We conducted a series of diplomatic demarches in this regard. We continue to cooperate with the United States through foreign ministries, embassies, sherpas and sous-sherpas in order to eliminate these barriers," he told RIA Novosti.

The diplomat noted that the violation of the rights of representatives of the Russian delegation casts doubt on the success of the meeting this year.

Berdyev had also reported a day earlier that Russian President Vladimir Putin had not yet received an invitation from the American side to attend the G20 summit in the United States. He clarified that according to the established tradition in the G20, such invitations are sent out closer to the summit itself, about a month and a half in advance.

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Izvestia on June 5 that Putin's visit to the G20 summit in the United States is not being worked out yet. Earlier, Peskov noted that Russia does not rule out Putin's trip to the G20 summit in the United States, which remains in doubt, but in any case, Russia will be "adequately represented" at the December meeting of world leaders under the chairmanship of the United States.
