On June 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the deceased hero of Russia Naran Ochir-Goryaev a bright man and a real man.
The death of Ochir-Goryaev, a native of Kalmykia, with whom the Russian president communicated during a direct line, was announced on June 5 by the head of the republic, Batu Khasikov. He noted that from the first days of his military service, the officer was on the front line and participated in the battles for Soledar, the liberation of Seversk and other operations. On June 10, a farewell ceremony and funeral for Amir Goryaev took place in Elista.
During the "Results of the Year" on December 19, 2025, Putin gave the floor to Ochir-Goryaev, who told the details about the liberation of Seversk by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. According to the Russian leader, he invited the officer to the meeting room of the Security Council (SB) to talk about the situation in the city, after which it was decided to invite him to the broadcast of the Results of the Year.
The officer, who began his service as a simple driver and later became the commander of more than 80 fighters, also spoke about the situation with civilians in Seversk. According to him, during the retreat, the Ukrainian military shot civilians who refused to leave with them.
