Robot vacuum cleaners have long learned to move around the apartment on their own and collect dust. However, it is difficult to call fully autonomous cleaning yet: wires, toys, fringed carpets, high thresholds and low furniture still interfere with devices. The new Dreame X60 Ultra Complete is one of the most technologically advanced models on the market and promises to handle just such scenarios. Izvestia tested the device and found out how its capabilities match the manufacturer's ambitions.

Below the furniture, above the thresholds

The main feature of the Dreame X60 Ultra Complete is an ultra—thin case with a height of 7.95 cm. This allows the robot to enter under furniture where many competitors cannot. Thanks to the retractable lidar in open spaces, the sensor rises to build a map of the room, and under sofas and beds it retracts inside the case.

The OmniSight system with two cameras and infrared illumination is responsible for navigation. The manufacturer claims that the robot is able to react to sudden obstacles in 0.1 seconds. During testing, the device confidently drove around wires, shoes, and children's toys, rarely requiring user intervention.

However, the system's operation cannot be called ideal. Sometimes the robot independently divides one room into several zones or incorrectly displays individual areas of the apartment. The problem is usually solved by re-constructing the map, but it has not yet been possible to completely eliminate such failures.

Undoubtedly, the strength of the model is the ability to overcome obstacles. Thanks to the ProLeap system and the AgiLift chassis, the robot is able to pass thresholds up to 8.8 cm high. For many apartments with different levels between rooms, this is a really useful feature.

Bet on capacity

While most manufacturers today focus on artificial intelligence and navigation, Dreame is simultaneously trying to maintain leadership in basic cleaning features.

The X60 Ultra Complete has received a suction force of up to 35k. Pa is one of the highest rates among robot vacuum cleaners available on the Russian market. The advantage is especially noticeable on carpets and in homes with pets.

The system is complemented by HyperStream technology with a double brush against hair and wool winding. For owners of cats, dogs, and owners of long hair, this remains one of the most sought-after functions: the need to regularly disassemble the cleaning brush is still one of the main complaints about other robot vacuum cleaners.

The Dual Flex Arm system is used for cleaning along the walls. The side brush extends to the baseboards, and the mops are able to extend beyond the body by several centimeters. As a result, the robot is noticeably better at handling corners and spaces around furniture than most previous generation models.

Wet cleaning has become more serious

Until a few years ago, wet cleaning in robot vacuum cleaners was perceived more as an additional function. The situation has changed today.

The X60 Ultra Complete uses the DreameGlide system with rotating mops, thermo nozzles and a floor pressure of up to 15 N. Thanks to this, the robot is able to cope not only with traces of dust, but also with more complex contaminants, such as dried stains in the hallway or in the kitchen.

At the same time, the device automatically adapts the algorithms of operation to different types of coatings and is able to interact correctly with carpets. This is especially important for apartment owners who combine tiles, laminate and carpeting. The vacuum cleaner also has a fringe detection function.

Automation requires maintenance

The most impressive part of the kit remains the PowerDock station. She cleans the container on her own, rinses the mops with hot water up to 100 degrees, dries them with hot air and replenishes the supply of clean water.

However, you will not be able to completely forget about maintenance, as is the case with any such devices. In case of heavy pollution, users note that the HEPA filter is sometimes clogged with fine dust and requires separate cleaning, despite the efficient operation of the station with the main container.

It is such stations that today transform the robot vacuum cleaner from a gadget that requires constant attention into a truly autonomous device. The manufacturer claims up to 100 cleaning cycles without having to clean the dust collector manually.

In the dry balance

The Dreame X60 Ultra Complete gives the impression of being one of the most technologically advanced robot vacuum cleaners available on the Russian market today. Its ultra-thin body, advanced navigation system, ability to overcome high thresholds, powerful dry cleaning and an almost complete self-service cycle make it a serious contender for the role of a universal home assistant.

At the same time, the device cannot be called uncompromising. The price of 139,990 rubles automatically assigns the model to the premium segment, and some — however, easily solved — problems with mapping and filtering remind us that even the most advanced robots are still far from complete autonomy.

Nevertheless, for large apartments and houses, especially if the family has children or pets, the X60 Ultra Complete remains one of the most interesting and functional solutions in its class.
