Chernihiv region became the leader in the number of deserters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Chernihiv region has become the leader in the number of escaped Ukrainian servicemen, and additional units of the military law enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been deployed to the region. This was reported on June 12 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"According to the enemy's estimates, the Chernihiv region is the leader in the number of escaped Ukrainian servicemen," the source told RIA Novosti.

According to TASS, since the beginning of the year, the number of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters who have voluntarily left units is estimated at 70-80 thousand people, and the total number of such cases is more than 250 thousand.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 22 that the situation at the front was turning from difficult to catastrophic for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and neither Western aid nor forced mobilization was helping them. Against this background, there is a large-scale increase in desertion in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
