In Russia, the average size of judges' pensions in 2026 may reach 270 thousand rubles, with the highest payments coming from specialists of the Constitutional Court. This was announced on June 12 by Alexander Safonov, professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The amount of pension provision for judges in Russia in 2026 is on average from 120 thousand to 270 thousand rubles per month," Safonov told TASS.

According to the expert, retired judges receive a monthly lifetime allowance (ENP), which is tax-free, instead of the usual insurance pension. The amount of the payment depends on the level of the court and amounts to 80-85% of the monetary remuneration of an acting judge in a similar position.

Safonov noted that pensions of judges of district and city courts can amount to 120-150 thousand rubles, regional and regional — 150-190 thousand rubles, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation — 200-250 thousand rubles, and the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation — 220-270 thousand rubles.

It is specified that in order to receive maximum payments, it is necessary to have more than 20 years of experience as a judge. In this case, the amount of maintenance is 80% of the salary of the current judge, and for each additional year of work, another 1% is accrued, but not more than 85% in total.

Earlier, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov announced on June 10 that old-age insurance pensions in Russia will be awarded proactively. This procedure provides for automatic processing of payments without the need for a personal appeal from a citizen. The innovation will affect both standard old-age insurance pensions and a number of early retirement appointments.
