The State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct road raids on weekends and holidays

From June 11 to June 14, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct mass and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the search for drunk motorists. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.

Traffic inspectors will work in an enhanced mode on the roads of Tver, Novgorod, Jewish Autonomous, Ivanovo, Penza, Kirov, as well as in the Komi Republic, the Republic of Crimea and other regions of the country. On the eve of the long weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded about the inadmissibility of driving while intoxicated. To ensure safety, the number of patrols on highways will be increased over the coming weekend, the ministry noted.

The State Traffic Inspectorate called on eyewitnesses who saw that the driver was driving in an inadequate condition to show their civic position and report what they saw to the police: for all such appeals, the necessary rapid response measures will be taken immediately.

"We strongly ask motorists to plan their leisure time in advance in order to avoid driving after feasts and drinking alcohol. Such trips lead to the most serious consequences.: do not risk your life, the lives of your passengers and other road users," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for the Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The traffic police recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entails the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver faces criminal liability.

The death rate in road accidents is planned to be reduced by one and a half times by 2030.

As reported on June 2, in 2025, there was a 4.1% decrease in the number of accidents in Russia involving drivers who were intoxicated or refused to undergo a medical examination, and almost 13.4 thousand such accidents occurred at the end of the year.
