Trump allowed the seizure of the Iranian island of Kharq
In the future, the American side may take control of the Iranian island of Kharq and other oil infrastructure facilities. This was announced on June 11 by US President Donald Trump.
"At some point in the near future, we will capture Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure facilities," he wrote on the Truth Social network.
According to Trump, the United States also intends to establish full control over Iran's oil and gas markets. In addition, the American leader said that the military would launch a "very powerful" strike on Iran on June 12.
He also stressed that the naval forces, aviation, radar facilities, air defense systems and most of Iran's offensive potential have already been destroyed.
CNN reported on June 11 that negotiations between the United States and Iran on a peaceful settlement of the conflict are continuing, despite the latest strikes. Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to International Organizations in Vienna, added that the United States should provide guarantees that no new attacks on Iran will be carried out.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow was calling for restraint from Washington and Tehran after they began exchanging fire again. One of the last strikes was carried out on the night of June 10-11. The strikes hit the islands of Qeshm and Hengam from the American side and 18 military targets at US bases from the Iranian side.
