The farewell ceremony for People's Artist of the USSR Lyudmila Chursina will take place on June 12 at the Transfiguration Cathedral. This was announced on June 11 by the press service of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army.

"The funeral service and farewell to People's Artist of the USSR Lyudmila Alekseevna Chursina will take place on June 12 at 11:30 in St. Petersburg at the Transfiguration Cathedral," the Telegram channel said.

It is also noted that the artist will then be buried at the Sestroretsk cemetery in St. Petersburg.

Chursina's death at the age of 85 became known on June 10. The artist's entourage said that she died as a result of a long battle with cancer. At the same time, actor Sergei Parshin noted that Chursina had the gift of pleasing the audience and was a universal favorite. Parshin also called the departure of the actress a loss for the whole country.

At the same time, in a condolence telegram from Russian President Vladimir Putin, it was stated that Chursina's creative biography serves as an example for everyone who has decided to devote himself to the service of culture.

Chursina was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and the National Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Russia. Over the years of her creative activity, she has performed more than a hundred roles.
