- The student was assigned forced labor for stealing a moped from Sergei Zhukov's family
A student who stole an electric scooter from the son of the leader of the Hands Up group, Sergei Zhukov, was sentenced to three years of forced labor. This was reported by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Ostankino District Court of Moscow.
In addition, 10% of his salary will be deducted from the state income. The state prosecution requested four years of forced labor for the young man, and the defense asked for an acquittal.
The student explained that he had learned about the electric torpedo from a group chat in the messenger — they reported that he had been standing on the street for a long time. According to the young man, he took the moped through a courier to return it to the owner, contacted the police and posted his photo in a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, assuming that the owner of the moped could be a member of it.
Zhukov's wife, Regina Burd, was recognized as a victim in the case. According to her, she and her husband bought a moped for their son, and in November 2025, he reported that someone had stolen it.
At the end of May, it became known that a resident of Kaliningrad was sentenced to five years in a penal colony for stealing property worth more than 25 million rubles, including rare collectible coins. The court found that in December 2024, a man and his accomplices illegally entered an apartment building on Berlinskaya Street, after which money, jewelry, collectible coins and clothes were stolen.
