A pensioner from the Khabarovsk Territory gave 2.5 million rubles to fraudsters

A resident of Amursk (Khabarovsk Territory) suffered as a result of telephone fraud. A 65-year-old woman handed over 2.5 million rubles to the scammers.

According to the victim, at first she received a call allegedly from the pension fund. The interlocutor offered to verify personal data and asked to dictate the code from the SMS message. Then they started calling the woman "law enforcement officers." They threatened that the Khabarovsk woman was allegedly facing criminal liability for financing terrorism. This is reported by IA IrkutskMedia.

The pensioner agreed to "declare the funds" through a special department located in the capital. The woman flew to Moscow twice and handed over 1.5 million, then 1 million rubles to the scammers.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact.

Since the beginning of 2026, 199 people have been affected by fraud in the Pskov Region. The total damage amounted to almost 130.9 million rubles.
