A spontaneous memorial has appeared in Yekaterinburg at the site of a bus accident.
Yekaterinburg residents have created a spontaneous memorial in memory of the victims of a fatal accident involving a passenger bus that occurred in the city center. Izvestia publishes relevant footage on June 11.
"This is a spontaneous memorial. They were created in the center of Yekaterinburg next to the Bolshoi Zlatoust Temple. An accident occurred here the day before, which claimed the lives of four people," said Anastasia Razdobarina, a correspondent for Izvestia.
People carry soft toys, flowers and candles to the accident site. The consequences of the tragedy, as emphasized, are still being eliminated.
The accident in the center of Yekaterinburg occurred on the evening of June 10. Eight people were also injured and four died as a result of the incident. The bus driver told Izvestia on the same day that he had confused the brake with the gas at the moment when he was trying to drive through the intersection faster. According to the man, this was due to a sharp deterioration in his well-being. He and the director of the transport company that owned the bus were detained.
On June 11, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation named the bus driver's red light as the cause of the accident. A criminal case has been opened in accordance with Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules that negligently caused the death of two or more persons"). A case has also been initiated against the head of the transport company under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers").
