Sergei Dankvert, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) that Russia had successfully replaced live fish imports from Armenia with supplies from new partners.

"We understood that we would have to impose restrictions. To do this, supplies from other countries were opened in contrast. For example, we have shifted our focus on trout supplies to Iran and Turkey," Dankvert said in an interview with TASS.

He also stressed the importance of having a wide choice of suppliers.

"In general, the more suppliers we have, the easier it is for us to work. After all, if we depend on one person, then there may be a shortage of some products. There is no such thing now, we have a lot of choice," Dankvert added.
