In Poland, a discussion broke out between two groups of Sejm deputies regarding the statements of the country's Deputy Minister of Science, Andrzej Sheptytsky, who has Ukrainian roots, who declared the "steadfastness" of the militants of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation). This was reported on June 10 by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

"The deputies from the opposition said that the comparison of Sheptytsky is unacceptable. Deputies from the [ruling] coalition insisted on the deputy minister's right to evaluate historical events," the publication says.
