Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations urged Trump to refrain from threatening Tehran

US President Donald Trump should refrain from threatening Tehran. This statement was made on June 10 by the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irawani, during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

"Iran has never negotiated under threats and pressure and will never submit to pressure or coercion. The United States has repeatedly pursued this failed policy and should have already realized that threats and military intimidation are counterproductive," TASS quoted him as saying.

The Iranian diplomat also said that if the United States is really interested in a diplomatic settlement of the conflict with Iran, they should abandon the policy of pressure.

"If Washington is really interested in a diplomatic solution, it should <...> interact with Iran on the basis of mutual respect, sovereign equality and strict observance of international law," he said.

The crisis in the Strait of Hormuz did not hinder negotiations, but it did not bring a compromise closer either.

On the same day, Trump said that Iran had delayed the agreement with the United States for too long and would now pay for it. According to him, the Iranian army is in extremely serious condition.
