- Psychological support for military veterans will be expanded in the regions of the Russian Federation
The Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, together with the Russian Ministry of Health, plan to increase the possibilities of psychological assistance to veterans of a special military operation, including in small towns of the country. This was announced on June 10 by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Foundation Anna Tsivileva.
"Accessibility, providing qualified psychological assistance at the right time, directly with the experience of psychologists who work with combat trauma and post—traumatic stress syndrome, and developing methodological recommendations from the Ministry of Health is a necessary direction," she said at a press conference following a meeting of the foundation's supervisory board.
According to her, this issue is especially important in small towns. Tsivileva added that Defenders of the Fatherland had asked to include in the fund the position of deputy chairman, who would become a combat veteran of the special operation and who would work with the veteran community.
"A veteran will speak the same language with a veteran, and there will be greater trust from those who return," Tsivileva said.
Alexey Dyumin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Secretary of the State Council, said on May 29 that improving the system of medical and social rehabilitation of CBR participants remains one of the key tasks of the state. The Secretary of the State Council also stated the need for closer cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and civilian departments. It should include a rapid exchange of information so that assistance to the participants of the SVR is provided "without delay."
