- The Russian Federation exported a record amount of agricultural products to the EAEU countries in the first quarter
In the first quarter of this year, Russia exported a record volume of its agricultural products (about 3.6 million tons) worth more than $2.3 billion to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was announced on June 10 in the press service of the federal center "Agroexport".
"A record volume of supplies of agricultural products (agro-industrial complex) is being recorded. — Ed.) to the EAEU countries for the first quarter of the calendar year, both in physical and monetary terms. The previous maximum in weight was reached in 2023 — just over 3.4 million tons," the Telegram channel said.
This indicator, as explained in the organization, has increased by 28% in physical terms this year, and by 22% in monetary terms. For comparison, during the same period of 2025, the Russian Federation sold almost 2.8 million tons to the same customers worth $1.9 billion.
Supplies were distributed between Kazakhstan (over 2.3 million tons), Belarus (about 890 thousand tons), Kyrgyzstan (more than 220 thousand tons) and Armenia (more than 90 thousand tons). Among other things, grain, dairy and meat products were sent to these States.
Agroexport explained that the country was able to increase shipments of corn by 18.6 times, from 6.4 thousand to 119 thousand tons, wheat by 3.2 times, from 260 thousand to 820 thousand, barley (by 40%), oats (by 25 times), buckwheat (by 11 times) and rye (1.7 times).
On May 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his official visit to Astana, pointed out the growing interest of all EAEU members in the activities of this association. At that time, however, he clarified that he and his colleagues would like to see a union based not only on mutual raw materials supplies or imports of agricultural products.
At the same time, the Russian leader pointed out the intention of the EAEU countries to provide themselves with the necessary services and food on their own. To this end, the participants approved an order to create a common market for agricultural seeds, which scales up the positive experience available in this matter.
