A plan to support the elderly was approved in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, a program to support older residents for 2026-2030. The corresponding plan was signed by Governor Alexander Beglov, the Smolny press service reported on Wednesday, June 10.
The document consists of eight sections and includes 71 events, writes 78.ru . The aim of the project is to improve the quality of life of elderly citizens so that they can remain active and independent for as long as possible.
Funding has already been included in 11 state programs of the Northern Capital. The city Committee on social policy has been appointed responsible for the implementation of the plan. The co-executors are 18 district administrations and 17 branch committees.
Earlier it was reported that the State Duma proposed to introduce a 13th pension to strengthen social support for citizens. Such a payment can become critically important for elderly people who do not have help from children or relatives.
