The cost of bus rides has increased in Kurgan

Starting from June 11, the fare on Kurgan city buses will increase from 39 to 42 rubles. The authorities called such a tariff comparable to neighboring regions, the press service of the mayor's office reports.

The decision was made after an appeal from carriers who complained about rising fuel costs, employee salaries and transport maintenance. The relevant department checked the companies' calculations and recognized the tariff increase as economically justified.

Over the past year, the average price of natural gas fuel has increased from 20.29 to 24.57 rubles per liter. The minimum wage for workers in the off—budget sector has increased by 20.7% since June 1, to 32,715 rubles.

According to Ilya Savinykh, CEO of ZauralTransErvice, carriers have been postponing ticket price increases for a long time, but without increasing revenue, it becomes difficult to retain drivers and ensure stable operation of routes.

At the same time, the authorities note that the increase in the cost of travel can be contained due to budget support. According to the <url> news agency, in recent years, carriers have received about 1.2 billion rubles in subsidies. The funds were used to upgrade the bus fleet and compensate for part of the transportation costs.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russian cargo carriers want to reduce the scrap collection for imported semi-trailers and introduce preferential leasing for truck tractors. The Ministry of Transport believes that this will improve the economics of transportation for Russian companies.
