Over the past day, 366 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 30 people were killed and 427 injured. 24 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 10 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

17 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, however, 18 road users, including one child, required medical assistance. 10 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

As a result of 97 road accidents, 33 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 64 outside their area of operation, four pedestrians were killed, and 91 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 28 underage pedestrians, 17 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

68 accidents involving minors were also registered, as a result of which 75 young road users were injured, including 21 child passengers and nine motor transport drivers. One student who was driving an individual mobility vehicle was killed.

So, in the Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, in the closed territory of a cottage village, a 15-year-old teenager on a 5,400-watt electric scooter collided with a concrete lighting pole that was in the back of a truck and protruded beyond its dimensions. At the same time, the sign for detouring the obstacle by the truck driver was installed in advance, but the boy moving on IT either did not pay proper attention to it, or ignored the warning. The eighth grader died.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded parents and immediate relatives of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them on the road in the summer. You should have an explanatory conversation with them about the rules of safe cycling or personal mobility equipment. Children should be regularly informed about the rules of the road and the need for safe behavior during the trip. The lack of parental control over children and teenagers on the street during the summer holidays, when they spend a lot of time outdoors, often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users, the department stressed.

"In addition, we urge motorists to be more careful on the roads of towns and cities. Remember that children's behavior on the road is often unpredictable, so take special care when driving and maneuvering in courtyards, approaching pedestrian crossings, and also monitor exits from areas and park areas adjacent to the roadway. It is best to slow down in advance when approaching such problem areas in order to have time to react and stop the vehicle in case of a sudden change in the road situation in front of you, as well as to allow pedestrians to pass if you are approaching a pedestrian crossing," said the deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Russian Police Colonel Anton Belan.

On June 8, the State Traffic Inspectorate reported that the first summer weekends were marked by an increase in accidents involving minors. From Friday to Sunday (June 5-7), 181 accidents involving children under the age of 16 were recorded on Russian roads. 12 children died in these incidents, and another 198 were injured in various degrees of severity.
