Warsaw did not prohibit the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, from using his airport in Rzeszow for international flights. This was announced on June 10 by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the Rzeczpospolita newspaper writes.

Ukrainian online publication "Strana.ua" wrote on June 8 that Zelensky began flying to Europe via Moldova, whereas previously he used Rzeszow airport for similar trips. The authors of the material assumed that the change in the route of the Ukrainian leader occurred against the background of a scandal between Kiev and Warsaw due to Ukraine's glorification of the UPA (the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation).

Tusk, in turn, said that "[the airport] Rzeszow was not closed" and Poland could not dictate to Zelensky where to fly abroad from.

The Polish Prime Minister also said he had taken the initiative to convince President Karol Nawrocki "not to escalate the situation on our part." According to him, in order to resolve the crisis in Polish-Ukrainian relations that arose after the naming of one of the Ukrainian units of the UPA, Zelensky needs to reconsider this decision.

"The role of presidents is to find a good solution, not an ideal one, because there will be no such solution...> Give Ukrainians the opportunity to either reverse this decision or take initiatives that will make the situation less painful from our point of view," Tusk added, noting that Ukraine's arguments on this issue did not convince Poland.

The fact that a scandal broke out between Poland and Ukraine was reported by The Telegraph newspaper on June 1. It was noted that Warsaw was outraged by the decree of the President of Ukraine to assign an honorary name to one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in honor of the UPA.

Tobias Bohenski, vice chairman of the Polish opposition Law and Justice party, noted on June 10 that Zelensky was showing open disrespect for Poland, viewing its leadership as puppets of the German government.
